Other Junior Sailing Events

There is a whole range of sailing events aimed at junior sailors across the North West and beyond, including the Northwest Junior Traveller Series, www.nwjtt.co.uk, Topper Open events www.gbrtopper.co.uk and RYA Zone coaching and qualifying events for sailors looking to extend their skills further afield.
If you are interested in sailing events outside of the club, check out the notice boards for dates and details or contact Sailfish Organiser, Tom Partridge for more details.

RYA Youth Training Stages 1,2,3 & 4

Developing junior sailing skills
Sailing should be fun, however it is also possible to measure the progressions of each junior member using the RYA Youth Training Stages 1,2,3 & 4. Throughout the Sailfish activities we will be able to monitor children’s progress against the RYA stages, thereby giving them confidence to progress and become a more independent sailor.

Sailing Challenge Events

Hollingworth 8 hour race – Date to be arranged
A great beginner team event, for those looking to experience what sailing is all about. Team members take it in turn to sail during an 8 hour race at Hollingworth Lake.
Saturday 29th June 2019, Southport 12 hour race
– A real club team event where junior and youth sailors compete in a relay sailing their boat for the full 12 hour duration. Whoever completes the most laps wins.
