The club holds regular race training courses and sessions for new and existing members looking to improve their sailing technique and speed time on the water.Practicing your tacking and gybing are just two of the techniques covered in race training.

Race Traing Sessions

If you are looking to improve your racing or want to learn how to race then you have the following options:
Informal Tuition:
Why not attend one of our Saturday or Sunday morning Training sessions where you will be able to practice essential race training techniques under the watchful eye of the Learn 2 Sail tutors.
Formal Courses: Throughout the year the club will hold specialised Race Traing courses – These are usually a 1 day session, held mid week under with a top RYA trainer.

DEVELOPING RACING TECHNIQUES
Who’s it for?Sailors already involved in racing or having previously completed a start racing course

What will I learn?What makes a successful racing sailor How to make a boat go fast and boat handling skills The basic racing rules and how they are used in racing tactics Using the variations in the wind in racing Goal - To work on practical sailing skills, practice race training exercises and also to introduce the higher level skills that can be developed through self coaching
